Launch of Exploring Parliament, textbook for teaching or studying the UK Parliament

Launch of Exploring Parliament textbook at the House of Commons

A new textbook aimed at those teaching or studying the UK Parliament was launched at a reception in the House of Commons last month. Exploring Parliament is edited by our former group convenor Professor Cristina Leston-Bandeira (Leeds) and current convenor Dr Louise Thompson (Surrey) and is published by Oxford University Press.

It brings together over 50 academics and parliamentary officials, including many members of our Specialist Group. Exploring Parliament includes 32 short chapters and 30 topical case studies covering the organisation of parliament, law-making, scrutiny and accountability, representation, challenges and reforms.

The PSA Parliaments group co-sponsored the launch of the book in the Speaker’s State Apartments on 6th March 2018. Speeches were given by Cristina Leston-Bandeira, Paul Evans, Philip Cowley and Louise Thompson. It was brilliant to see so many contributors and group members there.  Buy a copy from Oxford University Press.
