The PSA Specialist Group on Parliaments and Legislatures is planning a one day workshop focusing on research methods in legislative studies for PhD students who are members of the group.
The day will include a session on different methodological approaches to the study of Parliament in which researchers will talk through their experiences of using parliamentary data, as well as a session led by Parliament’s Outreach Service which will explore how to develop a relationship with Parliament. There will also be time for participants to discuss their own experiences with others in a workshop session.
For a detailed programme please click here (opens as Word Document). We are very pleased to say that the workshop will include contributions from Peter Allen, Emma Crewe and Louise Thompson, besides officers from the UK Parliament.
The workshop will take place on Thursday 25th June (10:00 – 16:00) at the University of Leeds. The Parliaments and Legislatures Specialist Group will make a contribution of up to £50 towards the travel costs of each PhD student who is a member of the specialist group and of the PSA.
If you would like to attend, please let us know by Friday 8th May.
Participants need to be registered on a PhD programme and must also be members of the Specialist Group. Please note that the group will not be able to cover the expenses of those who are not members of the PSA. Travel receipts need to be kept for reimbursement purposes.
