We had a fantastic few days in Sheffield last week for the annual PSA Conference. Our three panels were the perfect antidote to the horrible wet weather, with ten excellent papers followed by some very good comments and discussion. We were really pleased to see so many of our members come along to these events. In particular, our final panel (at 9am on the last day of the conference) had the largest audience of them all! We also held our group’s business meeting at the conference. Several of our new members came along and for a quick briefing on our events over the last year and our plans for the coming year. We all enjoyed some cakes too!
Finally, our specialist group reception, kindly sponsored by Taylor and Francis (to mark the 20th anniversary of the Journal of Legislative Studies) was held on the second day of the conference. We were lucky enough to have the amazing Cutler’s Hall for this event, in the slot right before the conference dinner. After a speech from JLS Deputy Editor Mark Shephard, a giant cake was cut by the journal’s fantastic editorial assistant Sally Clark and Cristina.
