PSA Parliaments

Welcome to the website of the UK Political Studies Association Specialist Group on Parliaments

The PSA Specialist Group on Parliaments focuses on the study and teaching of parliaments and legislatures.

We aim to be an open, diverse and welcoming group in terms of both social background and intellectual tradition. Our members include single country specialists and comparativists who work on a wide range of national, sub-national and supra-national legislatures using both qualitative and quantitative methods. Our members’ research focuses on questions of executive-legislative relations, scrutiny, the legislative process, institutional organisation and procedure, parliamentary committees, institutional change and reform, parliamentary parties, representation, equality and diversity, parliamentary careers, public engagement, and trust.

The Group Convenors are Seán Haughey, Diana Stirbu and Caroline Bhattacharya, our Treasurer and Membership Officer is Ruxandra Serban, and our Communications Officer is Jack Liddall.

Please email Seán, Diana or Caroline if you would like further information or have any suggestions for the group.
